Welcome to my stats site. I created this site so my students would have one single place to access all resources and assignments for my class. I've come to realize that many students tend to be afraid of statistics and I hope this site helps to alleviate some of that anxiety. As you can see from the cartoon here, stats can be fun!
There are 12 "lessons" that take students through an Introduction to Statistics with SPSS course. One of the main advantages of this system is that everything is in one place. Students may check one single site for everything including assigned readings, PPTs, book homework assignments, SPSS homework assignments, and SPSS videos guides. Each of the 12 lessons includes chapter objectives, ppts, links to extra readings and resources, and an associated SPSS assignment. The lessons cover the usual topics in an undergrad statistics class including the basics of statistics, data reduction and basics of descriptive statistics, correlations, and hypothesis testing.
Meanwhile, I also keep a blog as well as a Stats Flipboard magazine where I make posts on topics related to statistics-- for example, articles from popular news sources that make wide use of statistics or other resources that I think might be useful such as statistical analysis tools, calculators, and data visualization tools.
Finally, you may browse this site in many ways. You may wish to go through one lesson at a time and work through all 12 which would be akin to working through an entire semester of my Introduction to Stats class. Or you may wish to browse just the blog posts or go directly to the powerpoints or the videos.
